In this day and age, inspiration is as rare a commodity as gold - and sometimes just as hard to find. A Powell River woman understands the value of inspiration and is striving to bring this precious gift to others in her 2012 lecture series.
A Modern Gal
Jennifer Salisbury is a true 21st century woman and understands what it takes to solve problems - even the ones we find deep within ourselves. Throughout her life, Salisbury has enjoyed success and failure and watched those around her struggle with many of the same issues. The former navy engineer has used her keen powers of observation and an uncommon sensitivity to diagnose and explain the "hows and whys" of our hectic lives.
"Sometimes as individuals we have a hard time seeing the forest for the trees," said Salisbury in a recent interview. "Some of the intrinsic truths about life, and the simple solutions to our problems elude us ...even despite our best efforts." The 35-year-old businesswoman says sometimes the catalyst to change is simply hearing the things you know deep down inside - from someone you don't.
An Adaptable Gal
Jennifer Salisbury is a former US Nuclear Naval Engineer aboard the USS Enterprise and trusted business developer in Canada and the US. She has worked with business clients in industries from ski resorts to tobacco companies to insurance. Her achievements and focused efforts have raised eyebrows across North America, and beyond.
Salisbury, as she pursues her Doctorate in Education, specializes in communication, particularly between generations. Her focus is on Powell River, BC's retirement population communicating what they know to younger generations. She interacts with many people gather information for her school work, but also delivers speeches to many upon request. Salisbury has recently delivered several workshops including “Leading Without A Leash” and “Networking Without A Net”. Salisbury spends time on stage speaking often, but also singing. She was recently hand-picked to sing at the Christmas Eve 2011 service at her church, with over 700 attendees in two services.
Salisbury speaks regularly, and is known for her intense yet self-reflective workshop style. Her presentations are always positive, personally challenging for the attendees, and immediately applicable to all involved. Jennifer works in person, and via skype, at locations in US and Canada, and around the world.
